Class Experience
This halloween special is for children with a thirst for knowledge of all sorts great and gruesome creatures, not just the cute and cuddly. In this 45 minute session we will meet three real live animals - snake, cockroach and scorpion - animals traditionally thought of as being scary or dangerous. We will learn that we have nothing to fear. Children are invited to show and tell a creepy creature toy if they have one, or they will be invited to tell us a bit about an animal they think is...
Children will learn all about these three animals - snake, cockroach and scorpion - how their bodies work and how they live in the wild, and they will be taught why these animals are not really to be feared and that there are in fact very few animals that we should be scared of. The more we learn about an animal, the more amazing it becomes, and children will leave our lesson loving our crazy cockroaches, slithery snakes and super scorpions.
Children are invited to bring along a creepy creature toy to show if they have one. No worries if not, they will still be invited to participate if they would like to tell us all about an animal they find scary.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
