The world around us is an incredible place, and it's filled with amazing creatures both large and small. In this class, younger learners will be introduced to the smaller side of the animal kingdom. Creepy Crawlies is a class all about insects, arachnids, and other small animals that don't always get the attention of their larger counterparts! Students will deepen their understanding of the insects, arachnids, and other small animals around them. They will also learn basic biological concepts like species range, habitat, lifecycle, etc.
Being an avid hiker, backpacker, and camper, I've always had an interest in the natural world around me. Entomology, in particular, has been one of my favorite hobbies, and my real interest in it began in elementary school. A lifelong passion in bugs has given me a deeper understanding of the ecosystems around me, and it has allowed me to appreciate the smaller parts of nature, as well.
Students will be provided a coloring sheet each week, and will need to print it and bring it to class in order to participate. Along with the coloring sheet, learners will need coloring supplies, preferably colored pencils or crayons.
