Speculative evolution is an academic and creative exercise in which modern organisms are thoroughly examined, considered, and then modified to adapt to new possible environments. In a world without humans, would rats be giant pack hunters like wolves, or would they use their natural intelligence and dexterity to form their own version of human society? What would an octopus look like in three million years, given a changing climate? In this ongoing club, learners will explore the biomes of an...

55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
All classes are based on the accepted consensus of the secular scientific community, and may include discussions of evolution by natural selection, the cellular and hormonal mechanics of sexual and asexual reproduction, and other aspects of studying living systems. Procreate and Sketchbook are digital drawing apps that can be downloaded for use on a tablet and are only for personal use for the learner. They do not require user accounts, and are not required for the class. Google Drive links are used to a share pdf file each week, containing all of the Creatures of Biosomnium and updates on new creatures added and story elements that have been developed. Learners will not use a login or navigate to a website to access this guide. The guide is not to be shared outside of learners enrolled in Biosomnium.
