Class Experience

There are about 320 species of turtles throughout the world, inhabiting a great variety of terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems on every continent except Antarctica. Their strong shells provide them much needed protection from the elements. But, that isn't the only amazing adaptation they have!

In this class, we will discuss:

- How turtles, terrapins, and turtles evolved
- Where turtles, terrapins, and turtles are found
- What kind of turtles, terrapins, and turtles there are
- What adaptations turtles, terrapins, and turtles have
- What threats turtles, terrapins, and turtles face

Learners will be introduced to these topics within herpetology via an interactive lecture featuring slides, photos, and videos.
