Class Experience

Colourful and often slimy, salamanders are an interesting group of amphibians found in some unusual places. Other names salamanders go by include olm, axolotl, spring lizard, water dog, mud puppy, hellbender, triton, and even... congo eel. With so many different names, it can be hard to keep track of whats what! So, let's learn about them.

In this class, we will discuss:

- How salamanders evolved
- Where salamanders are found
- What kind of salamanders there are
- What adaptations salamanders have
- What threats salamanders face

Learners will be introduced to these topics within herpetology via an interactive lecture featuring slides, photos, and videos.
