Class Experience

With over 7,000 species, lizards are one of the most widespread groups of animals on our entire planet. Surprisingly, even with those often large four legs, they are more closely related to snakes than any other reptile. That's not only strange fact they have up their sleeve either!

In this class, we will discuss:

- How lizards evolved
- Where lizards are found
- What kind of lizards there are
- What adaptations lizards have
- What threats lizards face

Learners will be introduced to these topics within herpetology via an interactive lecture featuring slides, photos, and videos.

Learning Goals

Students will learn about the biology, taxonomy, and evolution of lizards such as geckos, chameleons, and their relatives.
