Description

Class Experience

Learners will be encouraged to share their thinking and ask questions. 
Learners will learn about form and construction using basic shapes to create a drawing of characters and creatures.
Learners will gain confidence in their speaking and writing by sharing their thoughts with others. 
Learners will investigate different animals we find around the world. 
Learners will practice their social skills by talking with friends and taking turns listening and speaking.
Learners will improve their reading comprehension and vocabulary by learning fun facts about a variety of animals.
Learners will practice their creativity and fine motor skills by drawing. 
Learners will practice their writing skills by writing in complete sentences.
No homework is required.
Learners will need the 1-2 page handout for each week's meeting. 
Learners will need a pencil and art supplies such as markers, crayons, and colored pencils. 
Learners may want a notebook or a three ring binder to keep their weekly sheets together. 
No assessments are given. 
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be discussing predators and their prey. This can be upsetting to sensitive learners.
