I am an educator of 25 years and currently teach middle school reading and language arts. I utilize various resources to help assist with each students learning style. In doing so, I am able to effectively meet their learning needs, build their confidence, and give them the tools to become better writers.
Homework is not required. However, learners will be encouraged to share their work via Google Docs or in a shared online platform. In doing so, I will provide constructive feedback and suggestions on their work.
Paper or composition book Pencil or Pen Eraser Fully charged technology device (laptop, computer, tablet)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Informal assessments will be made throughout the session via an interactive platform, which will allow the instructor to assist where needed in real time. Students will be assess on their writing real-time and will be given feedback on their drafts.
1 hour 5 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents may need to assist students with joining into the online platform. Otherwise, no additional parental guidance is needed for this class.
