Description
Class Experience
This is a writing project for fans of villains! This class will meet six times in a 6-week span. Each day students complete a villain-inspired writing / art activity. Together we will use the entire writing process (brainstorming, drafting, revision, and final writing) to complete fun villain-inspired writing activities. Class One: Let's imagine! • Villain Introduction: Traits and characteristics of some of the craziest and most dangerous bad guys • Brainstorm, create and write a...
In this 6x course your learner will write three separate styles: ✏️Descriptive - Writing with details - Learning to use adjectives and stretch sentences. ✏️Story Creation - Writing a backstory that ties statistics, origins and the criminal record all together. ✏️Character Analysis - Developing a character idea and back story to create an in-depth villain that allows for the imagination to come to life. Prior knowledge of paragraph writing is helpful, but not necessary, as these are skills we will be working on within our sessions. All effort will be made to go through the entire writing process for the day's prompt, however, if your student is unable to complete the assignment during our class time, please let me know via email. We can make arrangements for your student to send me their final writing through the Outschool portal.
Homework will not be mandatory; however, if a student would like to finish any sketches or details from the days work on their own time that is wonderful. There may be moments they want to spend more time designing that the class time will not allow for, but it will be a goal of mine to make sure everyone has the desired amount of time to finish their villain to their liking.
1 file available upon enrollmentAny materials needed will be provided for students via Google classroom. *Colored pencils / crayons / markers may be desired for the art portion of the villain course, but are not mandatory.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Due to the subject area of this course please note that actions found in video games, comics and movies may be discussed or used as examples. While it is my intent to keep our villains fun and of the imagination, sometimes unsavory sorts bring about actions that are not good examples.
