Description
Class Experience
Come find out what kind of creative writer you are. In this class, you will learn how to organize your thoughts and explore topics that interest you. Creative writing inspires critical thinking skills such as imagination,consequence,and empathy. Each learner will pick a topic that inspires them and work on it in class. We will talk about the writing process and go through each step such as prewriting,drafting, revising and editing. Lastly we will work on publishing and sharing. I will send...
Learners will practice crucial writing skills needed for everyday life.
I have been writing stories and poetry since I was a young girl. I find it’s a good way to clear thoughts and put feelings down on paper. I have taught middle school and high school creative writing for several years.
Learners will work on revising their stories, while checking for grammar and spelling errors.
A notebook and pen or pencils.
Informal assessment
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
I will make sure all writing topics are age-appropriate.No foul language or insensitive subjects will be allowed.
Learners are encouraged to search for information on their topics through parent approved sources. Internet, books, ect.
