Class Experience
This class is to give a basic start in understanding the literary devices of hyperbole, metaphor, personification and simile to help them increase their creative writing skills. Students will be able to write the 4 different literary devices of hyperbole, metaphor, personification, and simile. Students will have a writing journal for inspiration and further writing practice.
Students will be assigned a writing prompt after the first class. They will work on their paragraph(s) throughout the class and add each literary device to their paragraph after each lesson. The length and time it takes to write will depend on each learner but the minimum is at least 2 paragraphs that completes the prompt in a full story.
Learners are required to have a notebook (of any kind) or pieces of paper in order to practice writing and drawing the pictures for each class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
