Homework
If learners did not have the chance to finish their story in class, they can continue it outside of class. Students can then submit their finished pieces for feedback via student message portal. Parents can also submit finished pieces on behalf of the students.

Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
Do you love to write? Do you love sharing stories? This is the club for you! In this ongoing weekly club, learners will be able to write stories covering a variety of genres, themes, etc. 

We will discuss types of writing styles and genres. Learners will be able to share their favourite lines, stories, etc and why they liked them or what made them stand out. It’s okay even if you don’t have a favourite yet!

Prompts will be given before each writing session for those who need more assistance with coming up with ideas to get the writing flow going. 

(Prompts can be a single word, a bit of dialogue, or a sentence or two.)

1-5 minute explanation of the week's genre/theme. (Prompts will be given.)

10 - 15 minutes for discussion

20 - 30 minutes for writing

Remaining time - If students want they can share a bit of what they wrote.

June 14th - Fairy Tales

June 21st - Supernatural 

June 28th - Fantasy - High Fantasy

Hello! My name is Kaycee, or Kay for short. I am a certified ESL teacher (I hold a BA in English Literature and East Asian Studies, with a concentration in Japanese), and have taught overseas in Japan. 

I am passionate about anime/novels/creative writing/video games/art&crafts, and baking. These are also the topics that I aim to teach as well, alongside ESL, and Elementary Japanese.
