The class will be held for four consecutive days, and each session will be divided into two 40-minute sections with a 10-minute break, totaling 90 minutes. Week 1Lesson 1Creativity and charactersWe will do some short writing prompts and talk about character development and what makes characters interesting. The students will have a chance to create two short character descriptions from a set of 18 characters/peopleLesson 2GenresWe will talk about how we write different genres; fantasy, ghost, sci-fi, horror, romance, etc. The class will be a mix of information and activities that promote writing.Lesson 3Memories and locationsWe will cover how to utilize memories to make our writing come to life and how to write about things and places we never experienced. I will use Google Maps and show a location in the world as we talk about how to describe a place we never visited.Lesson 4Outlines and writer's blockWe will cover how we can write a timeline or outline for our stories and what to do about writer's block.
