SUMMARY OF THE CLASS
This creative writing summer camp will have students learn the basics of how to be a great storyteller. We will be going over the plot pyramid or story mountain. Students will learn about the exposition of a story, the complicating incident rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution in this creative writing summer camp.
They will also learn about different types of creative writing including random prompts, finishing the story, picture prompts, minimal prompts, and freewriting.

ABOUT ME AND MY STYLE
I have been teaching essay writing for over ten years and I love to expand students writing by asking them questions about their writing to get them to expand their ideas. I also believe that students need to have a structure to write from to really master the art of essay writing.
I also have lots of experience with students with a number of different abilities and neurodiverse students. I have experience with blind students, autistic students, students with ADHD, etc. If your student needs any accommodations to make this class more accessible for them please feel free to reach out and I will make these accommodations to the best of my ability.Learning Goals
In this creative writing summer camp, students will learn how to be a good storyteller and all the parts of a good story. They will also get to practice their storying telling and get feedback from other students.

Supply List
Students will need something to write with in class and well as a device to access the class through Outschool and Zoom. If students choose they can type their creative writing on their computer.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
