Students will become familiar with realistic fiction writing and go through an entire writing process. With my guided and direct feedback, they will be planning, drafting, editing, revising, and learning how to improve their writing.

Calling all writers - struggling and thriving alike! Do you have a struggling writer who needs support with improving their structure and/or creativity? Or, is your writer thriving and would like an opportunity to continue perfecting their work? Well, this is the class for you! With 1:1 guidance and support from me, this course is designed for writers to learn about and practice going through an entire writing process. Students will be watching videos of me teaching the lessons below AND...
Students will improve their writing by going through the writing process and writing their own realistic fiction story. In addition to that, students will learn about specific beneficial writing strategies to make their work more engaging to read. Specifically, the following skills/topics will be covered, taught, and practiced: all about realistic fiction, brainstorming, topic development, planning, storyline structure, engaging beginnings, drafting, internal and external dialogue, including more detail, the "show not tell" strategy, including transitional words, editing, and revising.
A Google Slides will be sent to learners.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
I will be providing students with feedback throughout the 6 weeks by and commenting on their work on their Google Slides.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
