Welcome to Setting the Scene, where young writers will learn how to create the perfect space for their scene to take place. In this one-time class, students will get a crash course in learning how to match their story to a location. I will give a mini-lesson on scenes and setting through a slide presentation. Students are free to ask questions throughout the lesson. They may cite examples from their own work or share from stories that they have read. They will construct a basic plot for a...
Students will learn 3 important things about setting and scene: -That the space is just as important as the description. -That all five senses affect how the characters act in the scene. -That the environment can affect how the reader interprets the scene.
