Description

Class Experience

Students will be able to manage their time in order to achieve their writing goals, as well as learn best practices for writing, publishing, and peer review
I have a master's degree in English and Creative Writing.
Students will be encouraged to write either before and/or after our daily meetings. I suggest an hour before and an hour after each day's meeting (i.e. after Day 1, before and after Day 2, and before Day 3). However, students are free to write as much or as little as they would like and/or their personal schedule allows.

I will also have videos for students to watch in the place of the workshops and speakers one may find at a traditional writer's retreat (see Class Experience above for more details).
 1 file available upon enrollment
A suggested writer's retreat itinerary will be provided in the Welcome post.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
My 1-on-1 feedback time with students on Day 3 will allow me to see how students have grown in this time, as well as what they can do to further improve their creative writing skills.
3 hours per week in class, and an estimated 4+ hours per week outside of class.
We will be using Google Slides as a means to do writing activities. Specifically, we will use it for our writing-based games on Day 1. Students will need a Google account to use it, though. If you do not, please let me know, and we can work something out.
