Class Experience

In this one-time class, we’ll uncover the secrets behind poems that pop! By exploring tools that make words come alive—like imagery, metaphors, and repetition—you’ll gain the skills to express your original ideas and create mini-poems that pack a punch.

📚 What will we cover?
We’ll explore poetic tools like:
🖼️ Imagery – Painting pictures with words to spark the reader’s imagination
🧠 Metaphors – Turning big ideas into creative comparisons
🔁 Repetition – Adding rhythm and focus to make your poem unforgettable

📋 How is the class structured?

1. We’ll start with a fun icebreaker to warm up our creativity.
2. Next, we’ll analyze a poem together (don’t worry—it’s short!) to see these tools in action.
3. Then, you’ll try out each tool through quick, hands-on activities.
4. Finally, you’ll create your own mini-poem to share (if you want to)!

🎨 How will I teach?
This class is highly interactive. I’ll guide you with examples, ask questions to spark ideas, and provide prompts to help you explore each tool. You’ll get to see a slide presentation to visualize key ideas, and we’ll work together in a supportive, discussion-based environment.

💬 How much interaction will learners get?
Lots! You’ll share your thoughts on the example poem, ask questions, and try out poetic tools through fun writing challenges. If you’re comfortable, you can even read your mini-poem aloud for the group.

This class is perfect for learners who love playing with words, want to try poetry, or are curious about creative writing. No experience needed—just bring your imagination and be ready to have fun with words!
