Creative Writing: Organization Guide
In this 4 week class, students will learn how to write outlines and thesis statements to help ease the stress of writing formal papers, we'll cover both MLA and APA formats.

Week 1: Students will learn and practice how to write good introductions, with sentence starters/attention getters, transitional sentences. etc. This will be done through modeling and practice like "I do, we do, they do" Week 2: Students will work on and practice writing thesis statements for their writing prompts and how to list them in their introduction. "I do, we do, they do" Week 3: Students will work on the body points of an outline and will practice writing in-text citations. Students will learn about how to use the writing strategy "ACES" to help them organize and sequence their papers in an outline format. "I do, we do, they do" Week 4: Students will work on and practice writing conclusions. Including restating the thesis statement, concluding statements and reviewing important points. "I do, we do, they do"
