In this creative writing class, every week students will see on the classroom a visual (painting, photograph, gif, drawing) that they will analyze. Before class starts, they should look at the visual posted, and comment their first opinion about it. During video chats each week, each student will analyze the picture for ten minutes to get every detail possible written on paper that they see in the visual. Then, I will have each student identify their characters, setting, problem, and solution. After identifying the important aspects of their story, they will have twenty minutes to freely write and get their thoughts on paper. I will ask them questions to guide their thoughts. With the last fifteen minutes, they will be asked to add in a certain number of transitions, conversations, adjectives, figurative language, and more. Each week, we will focus on different aspects of writing that enhance a story to be the best that it can be. Students will then type the final draft of their story after class to me in the classroom. I will check every week and give feedback to help students become fantastic creative writers. This class is structured to engaged students to learn to love writing and expressing their ideas. I will provide students with many writing tips to advance their writing to a higher level.
