Class Experience
The myths of Ancient Greece are some of the most famous in the world, being used as inspiration for countless movies, TV shows, books, and many other creative arts. When reading them, you may notice parallels to some of these things. In this ongoing class, students will be introduced to a different Greek myth each week. Students will learn 1 or 2 myths (depending on the length of the myth) each week via lecture and ways the myth has influenced modern society (if applicable) during the first...
Students will learn about different Ancient Greek myths and adapt them to modern times.
I have an IDS BA in Modern Languages and Literature, Communication, and Digital Media. I have taken college courses on the Classics for my major, and am familiar with Greek mythology.
It is suggested that learners bring a pencil and paper for class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Greek Myths often discuss violent action scenarios, death, infidelity, alcohol, and LGBTQA+ themes.
