Student will improve their vocabulary by being introduced to new words through creative writing prompts. Students will engage in creative writing activities that allow them creative freedom in the writing process. Students will learn techniques used in creative writing such as character development, tone, descriptive language, basic grammar rules, and how to include dialogue.
No homework is assigned, but students have the option to continue writing after class and submit their completed work to the teacher for written feedback.
Each student is expected to come to class with a piece of lined paper and pencil or a Google Doc open and ready.
If a student shares their work with the class, the student will receive informal verbal assessment.
