Class Experience

Join me for 1-on-1, focused Creative Writing sessions featuring fun creative writing prompts and expert feedback! I strive to make these sessions artistic and fun, "by writers, for writers." I'll provide prompts and skills discussions, inspiring the students' short piece they will write in class.

In addition to writing creatively, students will be introduced to essential literary devices and writing techniques. I can adapt curriculum and concepts to meet various ages. This class is homeschool-friendly and also relevant for students in public or private programs.

I'm a certified Creative Writing Instructor from the University of Central Florida. I concentrated in Creative Writing during my English BA at UCF and have years of professional experience teaching and writing for nationally-recognized businesses and publications.

*How Are Sessions Structured?*

Sessions include a prompt and skills discussion, creative writing session, feedback and sharing session, and a wrap up for the next session.

---------

*How Will You Teach?*

These sessions are meant to be artistic, friendly, and social. I will lead them through the prompt and skills discussion, then I'll give them time to write their piece. I will provide direct feedback and helpful writing resources.

----
*Will My Student Get Feedback, Grades, or Homework?*

There is no required homework, but students may be asked to upload their piece from class to our portal for feedback. They will need to go back into the message portal to receive feedback from me. Students may voluntarily decide to research on their own or work on pieces at home in order to develop concepts or storylines from class.

---------

*What's Your Teaching Style?*

Collaborative, positive, and hands-on. My goal is to inspire creativity, provide practical knowledge, boost the student's confidence, and teach them something they've never learned before, all by providing an engaging experience that lets them take charge of their learning. While their goal is to have fun and boost their creative writing prowess, my goal is to also give them skills they can use for future writing or academic prep.

---------

*How Will Learners Interact?*

They'll have open discussion with me throughout the class, in a workshop-like environment. There will be lecture, discussion, and personal writing time.

*What Else Should I Know?*

Students should be familiar with creative writing. They should be willing to write in-class and should have the desire to boost their creative writing skills.
