In this beginner level class, I will teach your child about the creative writing process. The strategies I will demonstrate can be used for any creative writing project including short stories and novels.

This is a beginner level creative writing class; we will meet once for thirty minutes on Zoom. I will share my creative writing process with our class. I have used this creative writing process myself to publish multiple short stories. This is the ideal class for students who are new to creative writing and would like to put their story ideas down on paper. I enjoy hands on activities, and I encourage active participation. A worksheet will be emailed to all participants, we will go over the worksheet together in class.
Learning Goals
Inspiration for stories can be drawn from multiple sources. Students will learn the steps necessary to create their own literary works of fiction. These include choosing an idea, choosing a plot, setting, conflict, theme, and creating characters, writing a summary or outline of their story, and writing a final draft.

Parental Guidance
I will keep the lesson family friendly to the best of my abilities. All students are entitled to equal creativity and some students might have more mature story ideas than others. I am primarily a fantasy and horror author.
Supply List
Students should bring a paper and pencil to class. Alternatively use of a word document will be sufficient.
