Creative Writing for Animal Enthusiasts

This one time creative writing class will provide opportunity for learners to plan and write about an animal of their choice from the viewpoint of the animal.
US Grade 4 - 7
Developing a creative story beginning with a solid hook, writing a middle with purpose that includes 3 paragraphs and creating a closing paragraph will be taught in this class. Through brainstorming with fellow learners and the teacher, a list of ideas for animals will be generated. 1. Students will identify creative writing elements (characters, plot, point of view). 2. Students will create a 5 paragraph creative writing piece. 3. Students will interact with the teacher and fellow learners.
I am a Master's level certified teacher with more than 28 years teaching students in grades K-8. I have been teaching in a virtual capacity for 4 years. I bring strategies and techniques to classes which encourage learners to develop writing across all abilities.
Writing paper and pencils or pens. If you prefer to type your story you may do so. Colored pencils or markers may be needed for illustrating.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
