Hello! Welcome to Creative Writing for fiction! This will be a 6-week course that covers topics such as traits of writing, fiction as a whole, working in groups, and peer-reviewing. We will also discuss graphic organizers and how they can help students be successful in their writing. I will be giving students opportunities to get individual feedback from myself and from their peers. There will be higher-level thinking, group discussion, peer-reviewing, and group assignments. There will also be weekly journaling prompts for students to work on so that they can warm up their brains for learning. I will be assigning "homework" as well so that I can gauge and track student's growth and work. The goal is to help students become better verbal communicators and written communicators. Both significantly help your student's language development. I also will be available to sit with students individually throughout the week if they wish to meet and discuss their work one-on-one. Below is the tentative schedule: Week 1: 6 Traits of Writing/Graphic Organizers Week 2: Fiction, Details, Graphic Organizers Week 3: Whole Group Writing Circle Week 4: Independent Story Writing Week 5: Group Sharing and Good-Byes *The schedule could potentially change based on students' growth and development.*
Learning Goals
The goal is for students to be able to organize their thoughts and write fiction pieces with little to no prompt from instructor.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies with a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California! I graduated from the University of La Verne.
I am pretty new to Outschool, but I have been working with kids for over 3 years! The ages I have worked with range from 2 years to 12 years. The subjects that I want to teach on Outschool will mostly be classes that contain writing/ELA. I love being creative! Bullet journaling, life journaling, simple/complex crafting, organization, and reading are some of my favorite things to do when I have free time and have been doing these things for years! I'm excited to meet all of my students and teach them topics that I am passionate about. I hope to spark students' interest in the same way that others have sparked mine!
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me! I am available to answer any questions or suggestions that anyone has!
Please don’t forget to follow my page!
