Learners will examine character development techniques in creative writing, using examples from the Warrior Cats series. Learners will explore passages for how the author builds a reader's understanding of each cat's character. Learners will then practice these character development techniques by writing passages that help the reader understand the cat character they have created. Learners will have a chance to share their cat character with the class. Students will learn how to convey...
Students will develop their creative writing skills, specifically in the area of character development.
Optional - Students can draw their cat character, if they choose, and send the picture in.
Student should bring a notebook, a writing utensil and their creativity!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students are given encouragement and feedback on their character development.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
