This class is perfect for struggling and experienced writers alike! Each week, students will meet and have time to explore a new writing prompt. These prompts will be fun, interesting, simple, challenging, and everything in between. The goal is to spark creativity, develop a regular writing practice, and increase both confidence and enjoyment in writing. In addition to writing time, students will have time to socialize and share with their peers, self-edit their work, and receive writing...
Students will improve their writing in both mechanics (grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization) and content (idea formation, outlining, flow, development). Students will develop a regular writing practice in order to further develop and sharpen their writing skills. Students will gain confidence in their writing and increase social skills through sharing and discussion.
I am a licensed intervention specialist with classroom experience teaching writing skills to developing writers. Additionally, I have a Master's in Education.
There is no homework for this class.
All you need for my class is a computer/tablet to access it, and something to write with!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There is no formal assessment in this class. Verbal feedback will be given on all writing samples.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
