Class Experience
As a forever learner who has been writing since a young age and became published for the first time in my 30s, I understand the frustration of not knowing how to say what you want to say when it's so awesome but stuck in your head! This class is all about getting that awesome creativity out of the head and onto paper without fear of judgment if it doesn't come out perfectly right away! My goal in this class for your learners is to put the joy back into writing by giving kids some control over...
Students will improve their writing skills and increase confidence in their writing abilities.
I am the published author of over 25 books for children and have sold over 40000 copies on Amazon since 2012. Book series include BE THE VET, EVIE AND THE VOLUNTEERS, HAZEL: THE CLINIC CAT, NILES AND BRADFORD, CLARA AND TUNI, AND THIRD GRADE OUTSIDER. I give school talks to students about the writing process and encourage the following of one's passions and commitment to hard work despite setbacks. I recommend a notebook or journal for writing as well as a pencil. A separate tablet is fine if a student prefers writing electronically.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Canva slides are used by the teacher to present information to students. Students do not need a Canva account to view the slides.
