What's included

1 live meeting
55 mins in-class hours per week
Homework
1-2 hours per week. Although I do not assign formal homework, I do set goals for students that I expect them to try to meet. Students do not receive grades in class but are expected to show participation outside of class by meeting their writing goals each week.

Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
We will write short, medium, or long stories depending on each student’s personal preference. Although the majority of students prefer fiction, science-fiction, and fantasy fiction, students may choose a different genre if they prefer. At the end of class students are given the option to read their work to the class.

Together we will discuss, analyze, and plan our writing while keeping in mind the literary elements:
Character development, foreshadowing, symbolism, theme, setting, diction, plot, conflict, flashbacks, imagery, and point-of-view.

Learners can choose to write a different short story each week, or they can add on to one book. This club is focused on reading, writing, group discussion, and creativity. Learners are encouraged to think outside of the box. This club allows for creativity and imagination to flow. Learners will receive constructive feedback about their writing.

New topics will be discussed each week.
