In this 5-day camp, campers will explore four different genres of writing: Poetry, Flash Fic, Short Story and Creative Nonfiction. On Day 5, we'll have a Camper Reading! Each camper will perform 2 pieces of writing for the class. #creative
Class experience
US Grade 4 - 7
For Days 1-4, we will start off with a 5 min warm-up writing exercise related to the genre of the day. If your child liked this camp, consider signing them up for our weekly poetry workshop! (Creative Writing - Weekly Poetry Workshop) On Day 1 we'll read and discuss a poem about summer. Then we'll have 10-15 mins of quiet writing time, after which students will have the option of sharing their first draft with the class. All campers will need something to write with. Some campers type on Google Docs or Microsoft Word. Others handwrite in a notebook. Please use whatever you are most comfortable with!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
