Writing a good story often requires creativity and natural-born talent. Writing an excellent story requires an understanding of key elements of the craft. In this camp, students will explore several key components to writing a great story. Students will also receive feedback on stories they choose to submit. Topics covered in class: - Genre - Setting - Conflict - Character development - Types of characters - Showing and telling - Dialogue Students will receive feedback on any stories they choose to submit.

I have a bachelor's degree in writing with an emphasis in journalism and creative writing. Prior to teaching on Outschool, I worked as a professional writer for four years and still continue to write professionally. I have been teaching English, literature, and writing on Outschool since May 2020.
