Description
Class Experience
Learners will: • Increase their vocabulary by learning new words and definitions. • Expand their creative writing skills. • Write short stories and build their personal story notebooks. • Share their stories and practice their public speaking skills if they choose to submit a video recording or read the story to friends and family. • Get to know other learners and feel comfortable and confident in our class.
I am a certified teacher and have worked with children of all ages from 5-18. I enjoy teaching and learning with the students. I am excited to help spark/develop an interest in writing as well as for learning new words.
Homework will include writing the stories and submitting them to me through the classroom or as a direct message. I encourage learners to continue writing their stories during the week if they would like to do so. I will provide written feedback and praise for all work. If requested, I am also happy to provide grammar editing and suggestions. I will post a worksheet activity (word search, fill-in-the-blank questions, definition matching, cross-word puzzles, etc) each week in the classroom. If you would like the answer key for these worksheets, it is available if requested.
Learners will need a pencil and paper for new words/definitions. They may choose to use a notebook to keep everything together if they would like. They may want a notebook for their stories and writings with a separate paper or notebook for their words/definitions - it is just personal preference.
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
