In this fun, one-on-one creative writing class, young learners will develop their storytelling skills while exploring the world of Minecraft! Using their favorite characters, biomes, and adventures as inspiration, students will build confidence in early writing skills through interactive storytelling, drawing, and simple sentence-building activities. ✨ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐞’𝐥𝐥 𝐃𝐨: 🟥𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞: Learners will imagine a fun story about their own Minecraft character, a favorite mob, or a brand-new world! 🟧𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲: We’ll start by drawing and talking about our ideas before putting them into words. 🟩𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: Learners will learn to write simple sentences about their story using sight words, phonics, and inventive spelling. 🟦𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬: Through guided questions and prompts, learners will describe characters, settings, and exciting events in their Minecraft world! ⚠️Please note that we will not be playing Minecraft in this class or accessing any game footage. 🎮 How We’ll Learn: ✅Interactive discussion using Minecraft-themed pictures and prompts. ✅Engaging drawing and storytelling activities. ✅Encouraging writing practice with personalized feedback. This class is designed to be fun, low-pressure, and engaging for young learners who love Minecraft. No prior writing experience is needed—just a love of adventure and imagination! Learning Goals
Print Concepts (CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.K.1) – Understanding that words are made up of letters and sentences start with capital letters and end with punctuation.
Phonological Awareness (CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.K.2) – Practicing letter sounds and blending them to form words.
