Creative Writing | Minecraft Edition
In this one-time Minecraft themed writing course, students learn basic story elements, such as characters, plot, and setting, while completing graphic organizers. Students write their stories independently and then can choose to share.

After greeting one another, students begin class with a writing mini-lesson. Students complete graphic organizers as we complete the "pre-writing" stage together. It is important to note that graphic organizers are completely optional. Students write independently on their topics for 15-20 minutes, and, if they so choose, share their writing with the class. This creative writing course includes exciting writing prompts so that even the most reluctant writer will want to create a story. Class Structure: • Students learn a writing mini-lesson. • Students choose writing prompts to respond to. • When applicable, students fill out their graphic organizers to make their writing more cohesive and organized. • Students write independently for 15-20 minutes. Teacher support is available to all students during this time. If students have questions or need teacher support, they must raise their hands. • Once the independent writing time is over, all students may share their stories by reading to the class (this is optional). Students who choose to read their writing receive encouragement and feedback. It is my goal to create a fun, interactive learning environment. I believe when children have fun, they learn the most. I love to learn and teach. I strive to make each of my classes as interactive as possible. I hope to see you in the classroom!

Please send your child to class with: •Printed Writing Paper & Graphic Organizer (will be available under the "classroom" tab approx. 24 hours prior to class beginning). If you are unable to print, please do not worry. We can easily work around it. Please bring 2-3 pieces of lined paper to class if you cannot print.) • A pencil or pen to write with
