The best way to improve your creative writing skills is to write. In this ongoing class, I will provide several different prompts each week and help bring out your learner’s creativity. I will offer several genres to choose from. Each learner will choose the prompt they want. I will ask questions and provide graphic organizers to help them brainstorm. Learners will have the opportunity to share their work in class and on the classroom wall to receive feedback in a low-pressure and supportive environment. Learners are not expected to finish in class. This class is to encourage learners to write more. I am here to guide them in coming up with ideas, help them if they get stuck, and improve their flow and details. Their classmates can also help provide ideas and ask questions. My classroom is supportive and friendly. I encourage participation gently by sharing my own examples and asking questions that will nurture their confidence. I believe learning should be fun, and communication should be empowering. I am a published author and a certified teacher who has taught writing in public school.

Students need access to a computer, laptop, or notebook for them to write on.
