This will be a creative writing course starting each class with a small mini-lesson on good writing skills, and ending with a primary source historical image sharing that will enable students to start creatively writing. A writer’s notebook will be provided to each student upon enrollment to use for the classes they attend. After a short writing skills mini-lesson at the start of each class, I will show students a primary source historical image and we will brainstorm and write creatively...
Students will improve their writing skills through mini-lessons, while also gaining experience with primary source images. Creative expression and writing will be improved.
Between classes, students will have the opportunity to submit their final creative writing for the week for feedback.
One subject notebook, colored pencils
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We will refer to the Library of Congress website throughout the class.
