Does your child love to write, draw or both? In our weekly club meeting, we will approach the fundamentals of creative writing by examining different craft elements in a fun, interactive manner. STRUCTURE: Each week, we will discuss a story element or writing technique and apply it to our own fiction piece. This is followed by either a writing or drawing prompt. Students will gain an understanding of what makes a compelling story and improve their writing techniques.

None. Students may choose to continue their writing outside of class, but it is optional.
Please prepare a letter-sized sketchpad to draw and/or write in so that ideas can be collected week by week. Learners can also choose to type out their prompts on Microsoft Word, Pages or Google Doc.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
For safety and the best learning experience, students are expected to turn on their camera for the entirety of this class.
