Beginner - Advanced Level
What will I teach?
I will teach students the foundational elements of storytelling, going beyond the traditional beginning, middle, and end structure. Together, we’ll explore how to create impactful stories using concepts like mood, tone, symbolism, lessons learned, twist endings, characters, settings, dialogue, and aesthetics.

What topics will I cover?
I’ll guide students through developing a core theme for their story and building a written short story around it. We’ll focus on brainstorming, organizing ideas, crafting compelling characters and settings, and refining their work into a polished piece with a clear message.

How is my class structured?
The class is highly interactive and conversational. Each session combines instruction, writing exercises, and collaborative discussions to help students brainstorm, develop, and revise their story step by step.

How will I teach?
I will use guided instruction and hands-on activities to help students unlock their creativity. We’ll write together, analyze story elements, and explore drafts collaboratively to refine and improve their work.

What is my teaching style?
My teaching style is conversational, supportive, and student-focused. I work closely with learners to bring their unique ideas to life, encouraging them to dig deeper into their imagination and develop their own storytelling process.

How much will learners interact with me?
Students will engage with me regularly through discussions, brainstorming sessions, and writing feedback. I’ll provide hands-on support to help them organize and refine their ideas as they work towards completing their short story.

By the end of the class, students will have created a well-developed short story with a message they feel confident sharing!

Learning Needs
This class is 1-on-1, so I’m patient and adaptable to a wide array of learning needs, including ADHD. I understand how hard it can be for students with unique needs to focus, so my classes are designed to provide the support they need.
