Class Experience

Journaling can be a fantastic way for learners to explore their creativity and express themselves. This club time is designed for those that love to draw and write.
Learners will self-reflect on weekly prompts, and design a unique combo creation of art and writing in their Creative Self-Reflection Journals. Along with enjoying their creativity time, they will be getting to know themselves and working on character development.

Each meeting will start with a discussion of the journal prompt and a short breathing meditation before creation time. After we take time to draw and write, there will be time for learners to share if they would like to share what they created that day.

Topics will be:
7/9-Favorite Things: Create a page dedicated to your favorite things
7/16-Letter to your future self: Create a letter and drawing to send to yourself when you are 20 years older.
7/23-Inspirational Quote: Choose a quote that feels good to you and create a drawing with words to expand on the quote
7/30-Dream Destination: Draw and describe your dream destination
8/7-Create Self: Draw and describe yourself doing something you wish you could do.
8/13-Planet creation: Create a planet and describe what happens there. What would you do if you lived there?
8/20-Friendship: Create a symbol of friendship. What is friendship? What makes a good friend? How do you want to be in a friendship?
8/27-Emotional moods: Create a drawing showing the different moods you feel. Show how it feels to be sad, angry, excited, etc.
8/28-Nature: Create the perfect nature scene. How does nature make you feel?
9/4-Inner Compass: Create a vision of your inner wisdom
