Description
Class Experience
In this class, learners will be presented with a problem to solve creatively, via Mrs. T inhabiting a fun green screen background. They will then take turns to suggest their own solution to the problem, but each time they do Mrs. T will throw in a new extra challenge they need to address. The next learner will then get to have a chance at solving the problem before another challenge is added. Learners will be actively encouraged to keep 'thinking on their feet', and 'thinking outside the box'...
Learners will be encouraged to use their STEAM knowledge to solve a problem and be supported by Mrs. T to work on ways to express their ideas.
I am a fully qualified teacher (BAPA, PGCE: Post Graduate Certificate in Education in English and Drama and Contextual Studies) with 16+ years of experience teaching English, Drama, Music, PSHCE (Personal, Social, Health, and Citizenship education), and Performing Arts in bricks and mortar schools, where I currently still teach part-time. I also run small group confidence-building workshops and 1:1 tutoring sessions. I have many years of experience leading community workshop schemes (like 'create a play in a week') and local drama groups for ages 4 to 16 as well. I write scripts and blog content, including many plays which have been performed on stages. I am also a massive fan of logic puzzles and actively collect them!
It is recommended that learners have some paper and a pen or similar, to record all the challenges that have been presented, to use to plan out their next idea, or to help answer a logic puzzle.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
