Beginner Level
👩🏫 WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT Inspirational creative photo assignments are discussed in each class. There will be several examples given and ideas for completing each photo assignment. Camera settings can be discussed as needed and will be taught when needed to complete that particular photo assignment. Students are encouraged to inspire each other through their photos by sharing in the classroom afterward. 👩🏫 TOPICS Class 1-Subject, Composition and Rule of Thirds Class 2-Framing, Symmetry, Leading Lines, and Patterns Class 3-Focus, Perspective and Forced Perspective Class 4-Portrait Mode, Colors/Contrast, and Shadows/Light 🏛CLASS STRUCTURE Introductions -2 min. Review photos by students- 5 min. Lesson of the day - 15 min. Take photos during class - 5 min. Homework explained -3 min. Kahoot or share more photos if time. ✨TEACHING STYLE Teacher will be using a presentation, videos, Kahoot!, question prompts, photo assignments, and discussion to teach the material. This is a creative class which means technical camera skills are not the main focus. 😍 STUDENT INTERACTIONS Students are expected to participate in photo assignments and upload photos after class to share with others. Students are strongly encouraged/expected to participate in the discussions with each other and teacher. Teacher is approachable, energetic and engaging! 📕 EXTRA INFORMATION A memory card and battery for the camera are items required. Also a way to transfer the pictures from the memory card to a device is recommended as well so pictures can be uploaded to the classroom.

The goal of this class is to learn about how to take a good photo through composition and settings on their cameras, such as shooting modes and focus.

The student will need any kind of camera, i.e. DSLR digital, iphone or smart phone camera, or a point & shoot.
