In this language arts and creative letter writing class, students will learn the basics of how to write an engaging and descriptive friendly letter to pen pals and loved ones. (Recommended for third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade.)

Class Experience
Some people believe that handwritten notes and letters is a lost art. Not in this class! I am thrilled to offer this one-time class where I teach learners how to write a meaningful and engaging friendly letter that is sure to make an impression on the recipient! Learners will even write their own friendly letters during class. The class will be broken down as follows: 1. Greetings and introductions 2. Group discussion - What's so special about friendly letters? 3. How to write a friendly...
Students will be able to write an engaging friendly letter that shares information, asks questions, and expresses genuine care and concern for the recipient.
The only "homework" learners must complete is finishing their friendly letter and giving that letter to a loved one, whether in person or through the mail.
For this class, learners should bring: (1) A few sheets of paper for brainstorming and writing the friendly letter (2) An envelope (if desired) (3) A pen or pencil
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
