In this on-going course, students will use art supplies and their creativity to make a different craft each class!
Class experience
This class is all about being creative and having fun while doing so! Each week I will guide the class through the steps to make the craft. Instruction will be taught through a step-by-step basis, making sure everyone is ready to go before we move on. Each craft will also allow your learner to express creativity. Students will follow directions to make a craft. While making the craft, students will use supplies correctly (ex - using scissors appropriately). Students will also work on fine motor skills will cutting, drawing, gluing, etc. Learners will also express creativity and style as they add their on flare to their craft.
Week 1: Paper Plate Butterfly (paper plate, pipe cleaner, crayons/markers, scissors) Week 2: Q-tip Painted flower (paper: white/green/yellow, q-tips, paint (multiple colors), scissors glue)) Week 3: Paper plate bird (paper plate, markers, construction paper (multiple colors), scissors glue)) Week 4: Windsock (paper, streamers/crepe paper, glue, markers, scissors, crayons) Week 5: Paper Plate Turtle (paper plate, green construction paper, 2 - 3 pieces of construction paper (learners choice of colors), scissors, black marker, glue) Week 6: Salt Painting Art (pencil, white cardstock, LIQUID glue, white table salt, watercolors, small paint brush, a tray to craft on, trashcan to dump excess salt, paper towels) Week 7: Paper Plate Jellyfish (Paper plate, paint (a few colors - learners choice), small sponge to paint with, construction paper: white and black, tape, ribbon (curling ribbon or regular ribbon is fine - whichever you prefer to use!), scissors, pencil, glue) Week 8: Cherry Blossom Tree (2 pieces of white construction paper, 1 piece of light blue construction paper, bunch of q-tips, rubber band, pencil, scissors, brown crayon, glue, pink paint) Week 9: Paper Bag Kite (brown paper bag, crayons, markers, stickers, yarn, popsicle stick, scissors, glue) Week 10: Stained Glass Style Canvas (flat canvas board [can usually be found at the dollar store], painters tape, various colors of paint [at least 3-5], paint brushes, cup of water, paper towels, wipes to wipe hands) Weel 11: Paper Plate Owl (paper plate, crayons/markers, 3 different colors of construction, 1 piece of orange construction paper, pencil, scissors, glue) Week 13: a few pieces of white paper, crayon, watercolors, paintbrush, cup of water Week 14: Plastic forks, multiple pieces of white paper, paint - green, yellow & a few colors of the learners choice, brown construction paper, pencil, scissors, glue, wipes for hands, paintbrush Week 15: 2 paper plates, light pink paint, paintbrush, construction paper (white, black, pink), scissors, glue, pencil, black marker
Students will be using supplies such as scissors, glue, markers, crayons and pencils. Parental guidance is suggested when using these materials.
