Class Experience
Unsolved mysteries can be frustrating because we never get closure. What happened? In this class, you decide. Listen to a true story that remains unsolved. I'll share with you what happened, along with some possible theories. Then it's your turn. What do YOU think happened? Think about one way to explain this mystery, then choose how you'd like to write your theory. Here are some ideas: *a story *a journal entry *a news report *a confession letter *a witness statement *a script from an...
Students will be able to: -learn about mysteries throughout history and the world -learn about possible explanations to solve each mystery -write about their own possible explanation -think creatively to solve the unexplained -share in a small group of their peers--if they choose to!
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Stories include the following topics (some of which are only mentioned as possible theories): -ghosts/supernatural -natural disasters -disappearances -death possibly caused by homicide, suicide, hypothermia, plane crash, drug/alcohol abuse -government cover-ups -theft -mental illness No graphic details or unnecessary information will be shared, but please be sure these topics are appropriate for your learner. Photos and/or CCTV clips will be shown for context, but nothing graphic.
