Hello, I am a certified and experienced Food and Nutrition Teacher in the UK for over 15 years and was an Examiner for the GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) for 4 years. This is a Basic Baking Course and is based on easy to moderate cooking skills. Students will learn how to set up for a practical i.e. washing of hands, hair tied back and apron. I will explain to your children mis en place so they can learn to be organised for a practical. Also, how to read a recipe and adapt it. Safety & Hygiene in the kitchen will be taught throughout the classes, including safe washing up. Your children will cook along with me in stages so we are all on task together! All recipes are dairy free and vegan, but they can use what they have. Please alert me of any allergens. Children will learn about yeast as a raising agent and the art of baking bread. The recipe list will be sent on registration.
Learning Goals
At the end of this class, your children will have a knowledge of basic hygiene and safety in the kitchen, how to make and bake bread with presentation skills. The will also be more confident and competent in the kitchen.

Parental Guidance
Parental guidance will be needed for operating the oven and taking food out.
Please inform us if your child has any food allergens.

A full recipe list will be sent on enrolment and equipment list. Students can get their ingredients pre-weighed.
