Beginner Level
The artists enrolled in this class will be taught various watercolor painting techniques as well as information about National Freezer Pop Day while creating a watercolor painting of several different freezer pops. The artists will practice wet-on-wet painting, blooming, wet-on-dry painting, multiplicity in art, and shading. This class will utilize the following structure: Introduction Information about National Freezer Pop Day Demonstration of various watercolor techniques while painting a freezer pop painting I will teach this class using a step-by-step demonstration of each of the techniques that will be taught. My teaching style is relaxed and focuses on positive reinforcement and gentle corrections if needed. The artists are welcomed to share their art creations with me through the Outschool class page. What is needed (also listed in materials): Watercolor paints (red, yellow, purple, green); watercolor paper; watercolor brushes; spray bottle of water; cardboard, masking tape or washi tape; 2 cups of water (one for washing brushes and one for wetting paints and paper); paper towel; black pen or marker; blowdryer.
