CLASS EXPERIENCE: Let's have some fun learning how to make your first garden! We will go over supplies needed for taking care of a garden, how to take care of your plants and make two fun creations together! Day 1 craft is making a cement garden stepping stone. Day 2 craft is starting our first upcycled flower garden! Please view the supply list for things your learner will need. 1 file available upon enrollmentSUPPLIES FOR DAY 1: (CEMENT GARDEN STEPPING STONE) 1- 9 inch round cake pan – recycled, thrifted or disposable 1 or 2 Plastic garbage bags (for keeping under the project and lining the cake pan so the cement doesn't stick) scissors Quick-setting cement purchased the smallest bag Bucket or large bowl to mix the cement in Metal scraper for mixing, scooping and spreading the cement Beads, shells, marbles, stones, sea glass, etc for decorating Plastic knife to use to write their name on the stone Paper towel for any. messes SUPPLIES FOR DAY 2: (UPCYCLED FLOWER GARDEN) Half a gallon milk or juice carton (washed out with soap and water) scissors small bag of potting soil Flower seeds gardening gloves (or other gloves to help with hands staying clean if they like) FOR DECORATING: Acrylic paints, paint brush, water, paper towel, glitter and much more.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parents will need to make sure they are available if learners need assistance with their creations. We will be making cement stepping stones and creating a upcycled garden.
