Creating With Collette: Let's Create Holiday Ornaments
What's included
1 live meeting
1 in-class hoursClass Experience
CLASS EXPERIENCE: It's the holidays and who is ready to add some fun decorations to their house or tree?! Students will have fun creating their own Salt Dough Ornaments and Car Ornament! The classroom is a hands on environment and I will be modeling each step as we create together in class! Students will be unmuted, unless there is lot's of background noise. Students will be encouraged to talk about what cookie cutters they want to use, share any fun things they are going to do this holiday season and more. We will go through steps of how to make the salt dough ornaments, mixing the ingredients, rolling out the dough and using cookie cutters to cut the shapes out. Then we will put them on cookie baking sheets and cook them in the oven! While those are baking we will create our car ornament step by step. We will not be painting the salt dough ornaments in class since the ornaments take 2.5 hours to bake. Learners are definitely allowed to paint them after they come out of the oven, otherwise they can leave them as is and hang them on the tree! This is a great class for all types of learners. *If you do not see a time that works well for your child, please feel free to contact me or send me a schedule request. ******************************* SIBLINGS: If you have more than one learner enrolled in the class, each learner that wants to participate must be enrolled to be fair to other students participating. Enrolled siblings are always welcome to share a screen during class. ******************************* REFUNDS & TRANSFERS: Per Outschool's limited refund policy: "Full refund within 24 hours of purchase or up to a week in advance of the class." **Please ensure the time is AM or PM when signing up. I teach early mornings as well as evenings to suit all time zones and, unfortunately, I am not able to refill a spot last minute if it is realized that the time of day was mistaken or the class was missed. This is a non-refundable policy. For one-time classes: If within the week, you realize you won't be able to make class, please submit a transfer request from the classroom at least 24 hours in advance. This ensures another student who would like to take the class has enough time to see the opening and enroll. If contacted after class, I cannot refund or transfer. I do understand personal/family emergencies come up and will do my best to support you if I am contacted before class. If your learner is withdrawn on your end within the non-refundable period, I am unable to transfer you. It is best to contact me first for your options. Please test Zoom before class. I like to be fully present with students as soon as we begin class, and do not access my conversations or classroom comments on Outschool after the class has already started. ******************************* RECORDINGS: Recordings are not automatically shown in the classroom. I like to create a safe, open space for students to be themselves and want them to be as interactive as possible. If you would like access to the class recording or have missed class, feel free to message me so I can make it available to you. Teachers don't get notifications if recordings are requested from the classroom tab, so messaging me is best.

Parental Guidance
I recommend parents are available if students need their assistance. If learners choose to use a hot glue gone parental supervision and help is required so the learner is safe.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am an outgoing mom of three beautiful children ages 6, 8, and 10 years old. I offer classes to kids of all ages who want to create. This could be in the kitchen, garage, sewing machines or even around an instrument! I have been teaching and working with kids for 14 years. I have a Bachelors in Communications, Minor in Music, a Masters Degree in Business Administration, and lots of life skills to offer my students. My husband and I own a remodeling business. I have always been taught you can do anything you put your mind to! My three beautiful children help inspire me and help me to become the best me I can be! I want to inspire other kids to have the same outlook and try new things! Learning is a life long mission, starting young helps give your kids confidence and skills for success! I incorporate worksheets, class participation and sometimes games in class to make learning fun.
A little more about my background, I have been cooking and baking for 22 yrs. My experience started when I created my own business in High School called “Lady Collette’s” and sold baked goods such as my famous Chocolate Mousse and Cheesecake. I have taught preschool and elementary school aged children how to cook and bake, the science behind it and how to have fun in the kitchen! I have catered many small parties with appetizers, main course dishes and desserts; including working on the dude ranch in Bryce Canyon, UT. I have three kids myself and I have been teaching them to prepare and fix food for themselves so they can feel confidence and independence. This is a huge life skill we all should master to set them up for success in the future!
I have had a passion for design and crafting for over 22 years. I have had my own Etsy business creating many house hold decorations; such as pallet wood picture frames, wooden boxes, wooden decorative arrows, felt wreaths, and bedding and more. I also have my own business with my husband, called BC Projects. Our business offers demolition, design and remodeling of kitchens, bathrooms and other living spaces. Our projects vary for each client; such as bringing a modern farmhouse flair to a home to giving the client their dream bathroom. I love building, design and putting beautiful finishing touches on each project we complete.
I am also a professional singer and have had a huge passion for music my whole life. I have been hired to perform at charity events, conventions, and at the Mesa, AZ Fourth of July Show. At the Fourth of July show I sang the Star-Spangled Banner and other patriotic songs in front of 30,000 people three years in a row.
