Creating Redstone Farms With Dave (FLEX Class)

"Help, I'm out of food!" 
"Man, I need some cobblestone."
"It sure would be nice to have some spider string."

Can you relate to any of these situations? If so, then you've come to the right place. In this 5 week class, you'll learn how to create various kinds of farms to supply your base with food, building materials, and other resources needed for efficient survival. 

Here's the list of farms we will create each week:
Week #1: Wheat, Sweet Berries, Carrots, Potatoes, and Beets (Manually Planted, Self-Harvesting Farm)
Week #2: Honey, Mobs, Cactus, Wool, and Bone-Meal (Self-Harvesting Farm)
Week #3: Sugar Cane, Bamboo, Kelp, Pumpkins, and Watermelons (Fully Automatic Piston Farm)
Week #4: Animal Farms
Week #5: Cobblestone, Charcoal, and Tree Farming

Each week, learners will:
-       Watch the video(s).
-	Duplicate my farm or create their own version of the project.
-	Upload screenshots of their progress.
-	Comment on another student(s) project with positive feedback.
-      Have the opportunity to communicate with me and other learners.

Please note there are no live meetings for this class. Videos will be posted to the classroom every Monday (Central time zone). Each video will explain how to build that week's farms. An accompanying Reference Guide (supply list and schematic) for each video will be posted to give learners an easy way to refer back to the concepts shared in the weekly video.

This is a flex course which allows a learner to cover the material at times convenient for them. Learners will be able to interact each other via the Outschool Classroom. Students can check in with me anytime during the course using the Outschool Classroom.  Private messages or Classroom comments are usually responded to within 24 hours. 

Basic knowledge of Minecraft, and the Minecraft Java Edition program are needed to take this class. 
Note: This class is taught in Java edition. Many of the principles can be used in Bedrock edition as well, but there are no guarantees that all farms will work as expected in Bedrock Edition. 

Minecraft is not just another video game. It's a wonderful avenue to teach engineering and problem solving in a familiar way. When learners have fun acquiring new skills, they are more likely to retain the information.
